Zero-Craft Corp. + Ebitenyefa Baralaye

Zero-Craft Corp. is an experimental design studio founded by Mark Dineen and Michael Neville in 2015 and based in Detroit, MI. ZCC engages with art and design as highly compatible disciplines and is focused on conceptual craft research as it applies to both art and design.

Statement

The Baralaye Carafe Set was designed collaboratively by Zero-Craft Corp. and artist Ebitenyefa Baralaye during the summer of 2015. Ebitenyefa Baralaye is a Nigerian-born ceramicist, sculptor and mixed media artist. These objects were designed as functional drinkware for a domestic setting. This series foregrounds material and process by emphasizing form, surface and gesture. These objects are imbued with the collective energy of the charrettes during which they were designed and created.
