Breathing Tube by Carly "Car" Riegger

Breathing Tube | Carly “Car” Riegger | 3:06

Becoming the mask. Embodying the medical experience. Riegger molds a clay mask and uses only a breathing tube for air. Using sound and video, Riegger holds the uncomfortable moment of breathing through a mask that is experienced in surgery and hospital spaces. This is a moment of the disabled experience.

Bisexual Angel by x medianoche

Bisexual Angel | x medianoche | 10:57

Bisexual Angel is a nonlinear glitch sitcom video opera about expansive love. The opera's multidimensional script is sourced from a poem featured in X's letterpress printed artist book (2022) with the same name. You're invited to enter the world of its plural romance, its divine unfolding.

In Conversation with the Floor Beneath My Feet by Anne E Stoner

In Conversation with the Floor Beneath my Feet | Anne E. Stoner | 4:47

A process-based, disabled retelling of Alvin Lucier’s I Am Sitting in a Room, where Stoner generates and degenerates a ruminative process of walking and un-walking.

Sunset in the Mojave by Anamika Singh

Sunset in the Mojave | Anamika Singh | 10:30

Sunset in the Mojave is a 10-minute short film that locates itself at the military replicas that populate the American landscape, particularly the Mojave Desert and the Hudson Valley. Considering the metaphorical nature and material violence of these sites by examining their multifaceted roles as sites of public spectacle and training operations, the film reimagines and expands the historical gestures that define military histories.

Mechanical Error by Alex Mikev

Mechanical Error | Alex Mikev | 2:46

This video displays the attempt to reproduce image and type from an anatomical textbook as closely as possible by hand, using red ink. The video, which pairs with a digital composite image of the drawing and textbook page, displays the limit for the artist to reproduce the labor of mechanical printing.

Space for Applause by Alex Mikev

Space for Applause | Alex Mikev | 3:18

This video depicts a full auditorium viewing and applauding an empty podium. The absence onstage and the presence of the crowd creates uncertainty in the significance of the applause, which originated in a speech given by a speaker that was erased from the footage. The remaining elements include the applause and incidental movements of the observing crowd.

Under the Covers Girl by Tina Rea and Josie Meister

Under the Covers Girl | Tina Rea and Josie Meister | 1:29

Under the Covers Girl is a reflection on queer joy and comfort as an extension of the ever-changing nature of the self. Wrapping the viewer in a bundle of fabric and bringing them into the personal dialogue of the artist-couple, the film reimagines intimacy through the lens of safety and coverage.

Beneath the Surface by Carolyn Spears

Beneath the Surface | Carolyn Spears | 4:11

Can we contextualize our own existence by examining dualities of surface/submersion, ice/water? This work explores the persistence of time through mechanisms of breath, body, and transformation. Each scene was filmed at the same location at different times. The audio consists of field recordings captured on site at Lakes Mendota and Monona.

There she is (parts 1 and 2) by Kate Flake

There she is (parts 1 and 2) | Kate Flake | 3:14

This piece is about the compulsion to perform femininity. People that are assigned female at birth are told our value lies in how we look. We are expected to conform to standards that are not fair and constantly changing. I remember the first time I was told I didn't live up to beauty standards. A family member told me, "You should pluck your eyebrows." I've been conscious of body hair ever since and struggle to not feel shame and frustration about the way I look.

Sparkle's Account by Drew Thelke and Meg Wilson
