Open House: Community Screen Printing Workshop | Arts + Literature Laboratory | Madison Contemporary Arts Center

Open House: Community Screen Printing Workshop

Instructor: Bernie Witzack
Where: ALL Education Studio
When: 1-3pm Sunday, November 14, 2021
Cost: FREE

Open to all levels, this process-based workshop will emphasize creating community with other participants while empowering you as a creator. We will focus on the lo-fi method of screen printing with stencils, using a range of materials. You will learn about screen printing’s history and have a chance to work on an individual design that will form part of a collaborative print. We will even show you how to set up your own home screen printing unit! Bring fabric items such as t-shirts, tote bags, or any other cloth items (up to three) you would like to print on. Join us to learn, collaborate and create!

Bernadette Witzack

Bernadette Witzack’s improvisatory artmaking explores feeling, abstraction, and presence through colorful and tactile compositions. Her paintings, drawings, screenprints, and works in mixed media are at once abstract configurations and intimate, confessional narratives—portraits that are autonomous visual entities with their own idiosyncrasies and bodily presence.

We are grateful to Monona Bank and Willy St Co-op for sponsoring our Open House weekend.
