The Midwest Video Poetry Fest had artists, filmmakers and poets submit their work from 91 different countries ranging from adaptations of classics to original work. Our dedicated team watched over 150 hours of films to bring you the best two hours of video poems made in the past three years. "This is Just to Say" by Joseph J. Puglisi is a contemporary take on William Carlos Willams's modern classic and is just one example of the festival offerings.
We will have 1 hour of screening time each night, November 19th and 20th, with artist Q&A's with the poets and filmmakers at the end of each night.
The Midwest Video Poetry Fest is made possible by our generous sponsors American Family DreamBank, FilmFreeway, New American Press, the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, and the Willy St. Co-op; by donors and members like you; and by a grant from Dane Arts with additional funds from the Endres Mfg. Company Foundation, The Evjue Foundation, Inc., charitable arm of The Capital Times, the W. Jerome Frautschi Foundation, and the Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation.
We're looking forward to sharing our program with you! See you on November 19 and 20th.
