Auricle

Auricle is a new music concert series focusing on experimental music and sound art curated by Phil and Cricket Redman. Through a mix of free and ticketed concerts, Auricle will connect Madison and Dane County audiences with local, national, and international musical innovators. Touring bands and performers in the Auricle series since 2023 have included Tarta Relena; John & Dan; Jaap Blonk; El Khat; Negativland; Circuit des Yeux; Lorna Dune; and The Others (Nicole Mitchell, avery r. young, and JoVia Armstrong). Auricle has also showcased local musicians including Emili Earhart; Andrew Fitzpatrick, Russ Johnson Quartet; Wonderporium; Tim Russell & Liz Sexe; Jakob Heinemann Quartet; and special Auricle Synth Night events.

This event is made possible by support from Dane Arts; Madison Arts Commission with additional funds from Wisconsin Arts Board. Additional funds also provided by Endres Manufacturing Company Foundation, the Evjue Foundation, Inc., charitable arm of The Capital Times, the W. Jerome Frautschi Foundation, and the Pleasant T. Our galleries are open Tuesday through Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday noon to 5pm, and other programs take place throughout the week. Please check the events calendar and education section for details.
