Joe Tomino grew up in Cleveland playing all the music he could...from jazz to punk rock, hip-hop, reggae, classical and electronic. In his late teens, Joe started playing and touring with the internationally acclaimed avant electro-acoustic trio, birth.
Upon first leaving home, Joe moved up east to study jazz performance and composition at the New England Conservatory.
In 2000, Joe relocated to NYC and had the opportunity to play, tour and record with artists such as The Fugees, Lady Gaga, Mike Patton, Wyclef Jean, Matisyahu, Blondie, Lauren Hill, Joe Maneri, Cuong Vu, Myra Melford, Simply Red, Z-Trip, Wayne Krantz, Easy Star All-stars, Meshell Ndegeocollo, and other amazing artists.
After a few years in NYC, Joe co-founded Dub Trio. Dub Trio has released several albums, toured internationally and was the backing band for Matisyahu and Mike Patton's Peeping Tom. Some of Joe’s performance highlights include Coachella, Lollapalooza, Late Night w/Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, The David Letterman Show, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The American Music Awards, The Henry Rollins Show, and opening for The Who.
In 2014 Tomino relocated his family to his hometown of Cleveland while continuing to tour internationally. It was around this time that Joe met guitarist Mike Sopko and the two started Yellowstone Apocalypse (a stoner/doom duo). This duo would become 2/3rd of what is Togishi.
