Indigenous Artists Panel Discussion | Arts + Literature Laboratory | Madison Contemporary Arts Center

Indigenous Artists Panel Discussion

Join us for an Indigenous Artists Panel Discussion on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the first floor galleries. Free admission.

Several artists leading the discussion will also participate in the 2024 Native Art Market on Saturday, November 16. They will share their work and explain how they, as Indigenous artists, explore design through traditional and contemporary artistic mediums. Each artist will share how stories, memories, community, advocacy, and materials shape their understanding of design.

Organized by Dakota Mace, this panel intends to educate the public on supporting Indigenous artists by recognizing the inherent ways of Indigenous design thinking and understanding the inclusion and revitalization of Indigenous visual sovereignty.

with support from the Department of Civil Society & Community Studies, and additional funds provided by Endres Manufacturing Company Foundation, the Evjue Foundation, Inc., charitable arm of The Capital Times, the W. Jerome Frautschi Foundation, and the Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation.
