March Watershed Reading

Join us on Saturday, March 21 at 7 PM for a special reading with poets Michael Imossan and Sasha Debevec-Mckenney, and fiction writer Angela Woodward. Their books will be available for purchase.

This reading is free and open to the public thanks to generous support from Dane Arts and the Wisconsin Arts Board. 

Michael Imossan is a poet and writer of Ibibio origin. He is the winner of the Sillerman First Book prize for African Poetry, 2024. He is the author of the Poetry Chapbook "The Smell of Absence" (Akashic Book). His Debut Poetry collection "All That Refuses to Die" is forthcoming from The University of Nebraska Press, 2026. He is a two time recipient of the PEN International Writers Grant.

Angela Woodward is the author of the novels End of the Fire Cult, Natural Wonders, and Ink, as well as her just released Afterlife, from Fiction Collective Two/University of Alabama Press. Her short stories, essays and reviews have appeared in many journals including the Kenyon Review, AGNI, Conjunctions, Ninth Letter, Green Mountains Review, and the L.A. Review of Books. Her short fiction has won a Pushcart Prize and been included in Dzanc Books’ Best of the Web collection.

Sasha Debevec-McKenney is the author of the poetry collection Joy Is My Middle Name. She received her MFA from New York University. She was the 2020–2021 Jay C. and Ruth Halls Poetry Fellow at the University of Wisconsin and a 2023-2025 Creative Writing Fellow at Emory University. Her poems have appeared in places like The New Yorker, The Yale Review, The Drift, and Granta. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut and is currently an Assistant Professor of Writing at Grand Valley State University.
