One Treble and Two Basses (Rescheduled)

Note: Rescheduled date for One Treble and Two Basses is Saturday, February 11, 2023. Tickets purchased for the original November 19, 2022 date are still valid for the new date. 

Arts + Literature Laboratory welcomes One Treble and Two Basses, a program of music for one, two, and three string instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries featuring Kangwon Lee Kim, violin; Tulio Rondón, cello, piccolo cello; and Eric Miller, viola da gamba, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 ($10 student/ALL member) in advance online at https://onetreble.bpt.me/ starting Tuesday, December 20, and $20 at the door for everyone. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Kangwon Lee Kim

Kangwon Lee Kim is a versatile violinist with a repertoire ranging from the 17th to 21st centuries using both baroque and modern violins.  She serves as concertmaster and Assistant Artistic Director of Madison Bach Musicians and has given concerts throughout the U.S. and in Korea, Canada, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Norway, and the Czech Republic. As a baroque violinist, Ms. Kim has performed with the Smithsonian Chamber Players, Brandywine Baroque, Indy Baroque, Lyra Baroque, and the Third Coast Baroque orchestras. She has also appeared in faculty recitals at the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin and has given guest recitals at Pomona College and the University of Pennsylvania. Tulio Rondon

Cellist and Gambist Tulio Rondón performs throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East as a soloist and chamber musician. Known for his vivid and passionate performances, he started his professional life early as principal cellist of the Aragua Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela. Tulio Rondón's performance career has taken him all over the world, sharing the stage with many internationally celebrated artists. Born in Venezuela, Tulio Rondón began his cello studies through El Sistema. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Simón Bolivar Conservatory, his Master of Music from Miami University (Oxford, OH), and Doctoral Degree in performance at the University of Arizona. Eric Miller

Eric Miller is known for his expressive, polished, and versatile playing. He performs as a viola da gambist, cellist, and occasional trumpeter around the Midwest, currently performing with the Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble, and frequent solo recitals. Previous performance credits include the Arbor Vitae String Quartet, the Madison Choral Project, the Madison Chamber Choir, Madison Youth Choirs, and American Players Theater as well as countless chamber music projects, mostly centered around historical performance. As an improviser, he is known for his skill and sensitivity in collaboration with songwriters and as an explorer in experimental music, he has recorded several hours of lo-fi electronic music with his duo, Basidium.
