Oscar Presents is pleased to welcome Lauren Russell, Soham Patel and Christopher J. Greggs. 

Lauren Russell poet Watershed Reading Series

Lauren Russell is the author of Descent (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2020) and What’s Hanging on the Hush (Ahsahta Press, 2017). She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Cave Canem, and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her work has appeared in various publications, including the The New York Times Magazine and the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day. She was assistant director of the Center for African American Poetry and Poetics at the University of Pittsburgh from 2016 to 2020. In the fall of 2020, she joined the faculty of Michigan State University as an assistant professor in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities and director of the RCAH Center for Poetry.

Soham Patel poet and editor Fence & Georgia Review

Soham Patel is a Kundiman fellow and an assistant editor at Fence / Fence Books and The Georgia Review. Her chapbooks include and nevermind the storm (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs, 2013) New Weather Drafts (Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs, 2016), and in airplane and other poems (Oxeye Press, 2018). She is the author of the full-length collections to afar from afar (@Civil Coping Mechanisms, 2018) and ever really hear it (Subito, 2018), winner of the 2017 Subito Prize.

Christopher J. Greggs poet and recording artist

Christopher J. Greggs is poet, designer, and recording artist living in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a Callaloo and Watering Hole fellow and was the recipient of the Goodman Poetry prize from the City College of New York. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in publications such as TriQuarterly, Texas Review, Great Weather for MEDIA, and the Promethean Literary Journal, among others. He is a candidate for an MFA in Poetry at The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
