PhotoMidwest: For the Love of Light (Pyle Center)

The PhotoMidwest Festival 2024 includes For the Love of Light, an exhibition by PhotoMidwest members, on display the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street, from Tuesday, October 1 through Thursday, October 31, 2024.

The title "For the Love of Light..." alludes to the word "amateur," which comes from old Latin amare, "to love," and describes one who engages in an activity out of passion. PhotoMidwest is a home for all photographyers, amateur and professional, to share their passion for light.

Light is the medium for our photographic expression. It is everything we see. We can apply our photographic tools to capture the beauty of light as we see it in real life, or to create images that only exist in our imaginations.

The For the Love of Light exhibition will include a Meet and Greet at the Pyle Center on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. After the Meet and Greet, attendees are encouraged to join the reception for the PhotoMidwest Festival 2024's In Search of Awe exhibition starting at 5:30pm a few blocks away in the Overture Playhouse Gallery, 201 State Street.

A complete list of PhotoMidwest Festival 2024 events, and more information about PhotoMidwest, can be found at photomidwest.org/biennial-2024.
