The Original Pinettes Brass Band

The Original Pinettes Brass Band, the ONLY female Brass Band in the Universe, was formed by Mr. Jefferey Herbert in 1991. Each member born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, attended St. Mary's Academy High School, the historically black all-girl catholic school (HBHS). From college students to a computer tech, the ladies come from a wide range of backgrounds and have created a true sisterhood.

The Original Pinettes Brass Band has performed at many venues and festivals, including Bullet's Sports Bar, Preservation Hall, Satchmo Festival, Essence Music Festival, and French Quarter Festival. They were crowned the winners of the 2013 Red Bull "Street Kings" brass band blowout competition when they beat three male brass bands, changing the name to Red Bull "Street QUEENS.” The ladies have also performed with Arcade Fire...
