Join us as we kick off the 2024 Winter Festival of Poetry on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2 PM. The Winter Festival of Poetry, a program of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, is Wisconsin's longest continuously running poetry program of its size. Hosted by poet James P. Roberts, this 8-week series features six poets each week, reading for roughly 10 minutes each. The series runs from January 21 to March 10. The theme this year is UNDER THE BIG TOP, celebrating the history of the circus! Each week will feature a different aspect of the circus, from clowns to trapeze artists and more.
This week's readers are:
- Maliha Nu’Man (Madison Youth Poet Laureate)
- Richard Vargas
- Araceli Esparza
- Jess L. Parker
- Lynn Patrick Smith
- Andrea Potos
With special guest performer Truly Remarkable Loon!
Each week will have a sub-theme and will feature fun facts about the circus. For more information, contact James P. Roberts at JRob52162@aol.com or call 608-242-7340.
