proc·ess [ pro’ses ](proc·essed, proc·ess·ing, proc·ess·es)
Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) presents a solo exhibition by Connecticut artist Caryn Azoff. proc·ess [ pro’ses ](proc·essed, proc·ess·ing, proc·ess·es) is an installation of hundreds of small works on paper that have resulted from the artist’s methodical, daily artmaking process. Also included in the exhibition will be a selection of Azoff’s sketchbooks that the artist has filled during what she describes as “a meditative act of creating, turning the page, creating, turning the page,” which reflects “an almost obsessive desire to create.” Starting with the preparation of the paper and drawing the grid that underlies each of the works, Azoff finds meaning in transforming the pages through a deceptively simple use of marks, colors and forms. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 24, 7-9pm (FREE).
