Silence According to the Crows

It’s speckled

      like a Pollock

It’s a horserace

     without the thundering

Not too much a listening

     more of a diligence,

     small talk in the elevator

And the joy of

     breaking it

Declarations of

     hawk and roadkill

Then back to the process

     of marking time,

     a rest for

    the retching
