“Captured” is a photography exhibition that puts a face to local racial disparities and exposes the general community to what life is like for incarcerated youth in Dane County, including LGBTQ+ youth of color. This show was made possible by GSAFE, Justified Art, and Arts + Literature Laboratory with support from Dane Arts.

Amber Sowards is a Madison-based photographer who is “searching for moments where visual evidence of communication and emotional awareness fill in a missing link, exposed when two photographs fall in a sequence that bring new insights to light.”

Our galleries are normally open Tuesday through Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday noon to 5pm, and other programs take place throughout the week. Please check the events calendar and education section for details.

We will be closed Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday June 3 for a private event
