Art Lit Lab is partnering with POLKA to offer printmaking with the professionals! This four week class held at POLKA Press Studio (2132 Fordem Avenue) will introduce the beginner printmaker to silkscreen and screenprinting methods, or the more advanced printmaker to POLKA's studio and equipment. Materials will be provided. Each class runs 2.5 hours with instructor Jim McKiernan. Included in class fee is a punch card allowing students to utilize the studio outside of their class in 1/2 hour increments up to 6 hours ($60 value). Students will be informed of supervised open studio hours. These open studio hours may help with the completion of class assignments or be used for independent projects after the end of the course.
Intro to Silkscreen is an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals and create vibrant prints! For students interested in pursuing a POLKA membership or ongoing use of POLKA's studio, this course will also serve as your orientation to use the space independently and effectively.
