Changes are coming to the smALL Press Library! Now that we’re all moved into our new space at 111 S. Livingston St. here in Madison, we’re looking to expand and shape our collection to meet the needs of our community.
We’re looking to increase the number of recently published books in the collection, focusing on texts by LGBTQ+ writers and writers of color. Moving forward, we want to focus on intersectionality in our collection and how to serve our members better.
In addition, we’re working on a campaign to rename the smALL Press Library in honor of local Wisconsin poet Susan Elbe. For more information on the name change campaign, please contact literature@artlitlab.org.
We’re also excited to announce that we’re beginning a trial period in which members can explore our catalog online and request up to five books for pickup. The cut-off to do so each week is Wednesday at 5 pm, and then you can stop by on Saturday during gallery hours to pick up your order.
Gallery hours are from noon to 5 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Face coverings are required, and social distancing will be enforced.
