Xinchen Li | Arts + Literature Laboratory | Madison Contemporary Arts Center

Xinchen Li

Xinchen Li is a recipient of the 2023 ALL Prize, and a jewelry artist and sculptor from China and based in the U.S. She finished her BFA degree at the University of Kansas. She is a current MFA candidate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Rooted in nostalgia for her carefree childhood, her work has a narrative format to tell stories of her surroundings and manifests her memories in pieces rife with portraits and symbolism. Following years of her graduate study, she enlarged the format of her work from small-scale jewelry and wearables to installation sculptures. Her aim is to create a place of memory and an immersive environment.
