Bayan-O-Rama, featuring Stas Venglevski and Stephanie Jutt

Join the the Back Dancing & Dynamite Society for a special bayan performance at the Arts and Literature Laboratory on June 12th, from 7-9pm. Stas Venglevski, a Russian-style accordionist from Moldovia will rock your world with his stories and display of bayan playing like you've never seen!  Flutist, Stephanie Jutt, and cellist, Jean-Michel Fonteneau will likely join in the fun.  Admission is $10 at the door. BDDS-style (read delicious) refreshments will be available and attendance is limited to 50 guests. (CSArt Madison, a visual art show, also will be on view.)

Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society celebrates its 28th season of summer chamber music in the south-central Wisconsin area. In a rousing three-weekend festival, you'll hear great classical masterpieces and the best of contemporary works. A roster of musicians with national and international reputations guarantees fantastic performances. It's chamber music with a bang! Artistic directors and performers Stephanie Jutt, flute, and Jeffrey Sykes, piano, are joined by 17 musicians and one visual artist.

However you describe what we do, Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society always features great music played with joy, creativity, spontaneity, and a technique that is second to none. BDDS is aimed at people who are curious, open-minded, and up for anything. People who want to have serious fun. 

 

His artistry, dazzling technical command, and sensitivity have brought Stanislav, "Stas," Venglevski, a native of the Republic of Moldova, part of the former Soviet Union, increasing acclaim as a virtuoso of the Bayan. A two-time first prize winner of Bayan competition in the Republic of Moldova, Stas is a graduate of the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow where he received his Masters Degree in Music under the tutelage of the famed Russian Bayanist, Friedrich Lips. In 1992 he immigrated to the United States.Stas is an Accordionist, a Musician, an Arranger, an Entertainer and a Teacher. Stas' repertoire includes his original compositions, a broad range of classical, contemporary and ethnic music.
