Celebrate Halloween with the Oakwood Chamber Players at ALL on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 2:00pm with a seasonally spooky concert! Joined by guest artists on violin, viola, and harp, the OCP will perform Conte Fantastique by André Caplet, a tone poem based on the famous Edgar Allen Poe tale The Masque of the Red Death along with Shostakovich’s 8th String Quartet, which some say he wrote as his own epitaph after joining the Communist party. You’ll also hear a rare performance of Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov’s An Evening in Georgia, a work for winds and piano, full of folk melodies reminiscent of the time the composer spent there. Tickets $20 student/senior/ALL member, and $25 general admission.
