Sarah M. Greer is a vocalist who practices, studies and teaches the art of vocal improvisation. Greer helps people find out what they are “supposed to sound like” so they can find a unique and joyful place from which to sing, whether they sing on stage, in the studio or in the shower. Currently, she teaches singing privately and at Minneapolis Community & Technical College (MCTC).

From monthly Songtaneous singing sessions to workshops to conference keynotes, she leads fun and engaging singing events that have presented at numerous events, festivals and conferences, including the 30th Annual Women & Spirituality Conference in 2011.

Greer has received two Artist Initiative Awards by the Minnesota State Arts Board and has a degree in vocal performance and a BSS which includes a concentration in music.

Saxophonist, Composer and Educator Sharel Cassity is prominent on the New York and Chicago jazz scenes. Listed as "Rising Star Alto Saxophone" in Downbeat Magazine for the past 12 years, Sharel has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, The Colbert Show, is in the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, and is a recipient of the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award. 

Sharel has worked with Multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson; Top 40 hit singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant, Aretha Franklin, Vanessa Williams, Trisha Yearwood, Ruben Blades, & DJ Logic among others. Sharel has also worked with NEA Jazz Masters Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jimmy Heath, and Christian McBride; she has also appeared as a guest soloist with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Peter Dominguez Bassist

Peter Dominguez grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin participating in the Music for Youth Orchestras, and performing with his father, pianist and singer Frank DeMiles. His teachers included Willard Feldman and Clyde Russell. Peter went on to study with Roger Ruggeri and Richard Davis at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned his baccalaureate and masters degrees with a teaching assistantship 1980-82.

In 1981 he was the first recipient of the Milton J. Hinton scholarship competition award.  A teaching assistantship and doctoral studies with Dr. Lucas Drew at the University of Miami, Coral Gables followed in 1982-84. Eventually securing positions in both the Florida Philharmonic and Michigan State University, Peter chose MSU, served as Professor of Double Bass and Jazz Studies 1984-96, and was instrumental in developing their Jazz Studies program.  During his Michigan years, he continued studies with Robert Gladstone and performed with the Detroit Symphony.

Johannes Wallmann is a pianist, composer, and the Peterson Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Wallmann has recorded nine critically acclaimed albums as a leader, including Elegy for an Undiscovered Species (Shifting Paradigm Records), which was named a “Best of 2021” album by DownBeat magazine and described as “delightfully mind blowing throughout” by Midwest Record.  DownBeat magazine has called Wallmann “a remarkable pianist and composer [whose] evocative compositions are brimming with melodic cogency and rhythmic pull” and called his playing “confident, muscular and elegant.”

Born in Sauk City, Wisconsin, Dr. Matthew Endres is the teaching professor of drum set and jazz history at the University of Wisconsin, and is the UW Marching Band Percussion Coordinator. In addition, he adjudicates music festivals and competitions extensively throughout the United States. He received his bachelor of music degree in drum set at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, his master’s degree in jazz studies from the University of Illinois, and his doctoral degree in jazz studies and ethnomusicology at the University of Illinois.

Endres has performed extensively as a bandleader and a sideman in national and international venues. He is the drummer for the international award-winning group Old Style Sextet, which in 2014 placed second in the world-renowned Cotai Jazz and Blues Competition in Macau, China. Charanga Agozá, a charanga ensemble based in Madison, Wisconsin, was formed in 2009. The group plays charanga, a dance oriented musical genre that originated in Cuba at the turn of the twentieth century and peaked in the 1950s. Charangas also became popular in New York City during the early days of the salsa movement in the 60s and 70s.

Musical styles featured in Charanga Agozá’s repertoire include danzón, cha cha, mambo, and some modern day salsa played charanga-style.

The group consists of Amber Dolphin on violin, Jessie Mitchell on flute, Yanzel Rivera on vocals, Paul Muench on piano, John Mesoloras on double bass, Brian Whitty on trombone, Alfredo Rodriguez on congas, Salar Saleh on timbales, José Madera on percussion, and Jake Kruse on the Cuban tres.

For over two decades, Mama Digdown's has traveled the world spreading the gospel of New Orleans brass band music. Mama Digdown's nods respectively to the craft and tradition of New Orleans jazz and the street beat they play has earned them the reputation as one of the hottest and hardest hitting brass bands on the scene today. The band has played hundreds of shows in their time together and is equally at home in concert halls, festivals, clubs and parades.
