Julian Lynch is a musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist. He began studying guitar over twenty years ago and has received formal training in performing jazz, classical, and rock music. His recorded work includes albums of experimental rock, ambient, and electronic music. Julian holds a PhD in ethnomusicology and anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has served as a guitar instructor at Monroe Street Arts Center, drawing upon years of international touring as a professional rock musician as well as his academic background at UW-Madison’s Mead Witter School of Music. Julian serves as lead guitarist in the rock band Real Estate while also actively composing and recording solo and commercial work.
Daniel Wyche is a Chicago-based guitarist, composer and improviser. Working with a wide range of physical preparations, extended techniques, and pedal instruments, his solo recordings and live performances are characterized by long-form structured improvisations and multichannel guitar. He has been a curator with the Elastic Arts Foundation in Chicago since 2013, where is work has been described as “crucial” by Dusted and “vital” by the Chicago Reader. In March of 2020, Daniel co-founded The Quarantine Concerts in collaboration with Chicago’s Experimental Sound Studio.Along with his solo guitar work, Daniel is involved in several ongoing collaborations, most notable the trio of Wyche, Mark Shippy, and Ben Baker Billington. His new solo record, “Earthwork,” is out now on American Dreams Records.
Lykanthea is Lakshmi Ramgopal, a solo electronic musician from Chicago, IL. Alchemizing spectral vocals and synths, she forms transient, enveloping worlds. Her sound is ritual chanting for the electronic age.
