Akiva Fox of the Clear Shakespeare podcast recently referred to Edward IV as the Bill Clinton of British monarchs. The play chronicling his life opens in the King's bedchamber. Edward's mother has decided to take up residence there, preventing Edward from properly welcoming his new queen home. And so the epic adventure begins. Edward IV traded reigns with Henry VI and was directly responsible for putting Richard III in line for the throne. Important stuff!
A staged reading of Edward the Fourth, (probably) written by Thomas Heywood, directed by Francisco C. Torres. Adapted for MSC by Sarah Zumdahl Johnson. Free, contributions to Madison Shakespeare Company gratefully accepted. Thursday, August 17, 2017, 7pm.
