Monsters of Poetry
Jennifer L. Knox is the author of four books of poems. The New York Times Book Review said her new book, Days of Shame and Failure, "hits, with deceptive ease, all the poetic marks a reader could want: intellectual curiosity, emotional impact, beautiful language, surprising revelation and arresting imagery." Her work has appeared four times in the Best American Poetry series as well as The New York Times, The New Yorker, and American Poetry Review.
Megan Milks is the author of Kill Marguerite and Other Stories, winner of the 2015 Devil’s Kitchen Reading Award in Fiction and a Lambda Literary Award finalist; as well as three chapbooks, most recently The Feels. They are Fiction Editor at The Account and previously edited The &NOW Awards 3: The Best Innovative Writing, 2011-2013 and Asexualities: Feminist and Queer Perspectives.
Steven D. Schroeder’s second book, The Royal Nonesuch (Spark Wheel Press, 2013), won the 2014 Devil’s Kitchen Reading Award from Southern Illinois University. His poetry is available or forthcoming from New England Review, Crazyhorse, and Pleiades. He serves as a board member, reading series co-director, and contributing editor for River Styx magazine.
Siwar Masannat is an Arab writer from Jordan. She is the author of 50 Water Dreams (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2015). Her poems have recently appeared, or are forthcoming in Eat Local :: Read Local, Phantom, and The Denver Quarterly, among others. Siwar holds an M.F.A. from George Mason University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
