Feel like you’ve been writing a lot of versions of the same poem? Getting bored with the tone of your work? Ready to move onto the next thing? This is a first-draft workshop for writers interested in pushing the boundaries of their work and generating new material. By focusing on creativity and play, we’ll forget about that annoying voice that tells us what we’re writing isn’t good enough. Each week we will read contemporary poems, respond to them online, and use prompts and exercises to break out of our writing ruts. By the end of the workshop, you will have ten drafts of new poems to develop and revise, as well as an abundance of prompts to keep you writing for a long time afterwards.
Please note that this is an online workshop. Students will need to have Internet access.
