Integrating the Artist

This unique 4-weekend intensive integrates multiple artistic languages to empower the individual, enhance their strengths as a creative, and become exposed to new forms of personal expression.  Open to the curious beginner through the practiced artist; you will participate in immersive exercises that will stretch and empower you to engage in new forms of creative expression. In this supportive environment, you will be able to explore, play and create a cohesive project that integrates your whole artistic self.   

This workshop will meet 12:30-4:30pm on Saturdays Feb 2, 9, 16, 23.

The 4-session workshop will include:

  • Circle dance
  • Sculpting the body
  • Character creation
  • Creative writing
  • Visual art creation
  • Body center exploration
  • Vocal expression

Trevin Gay director actor

Trevin Gay is a teaching artist, director, actor and arts administrator. He has directed and performed internationally in England, Germany, France and Wales and stateside in Kansas City, Denver, Madison, and Chicago. Trevin was the Artistic Director for the Madison Repertory Theatre before its closing in 2009 and continues to provide arts administration support when possible. Madison audiences may have seen him onstage in All For One! The 3 Musketeers Musical, Puss in Boots (Are We Delicious?), An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein (The Bricks Theater) Sylvia, The Misanthrope, You Can’t Take It With You (Strollers) or Compleat Female Stage Beauty (Mercury Players). Josh Peters film director

Josh Peters received his Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School and studied movement at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Improv at Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City.  Since then he has worked in theater, commercials, and film for the last 14 years in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City as an actor, director, writer, and producer.  Josh worked for many years on developing new theater pieces with companies from Germany, Japan, and Korea and has been fortunate enough to work with theater legends Lloyd Richards and Arthur Penn.  In Josh’s film work, he has worked alongside writer/director Damien Chazelle (“Whiplash”, “La La Land”) and Peter Sollett (“Raising Victor Vargas”, “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) among others.  His behind the camera credits include working as a commercial director for three years and most recently producing and acting in a comedic web series for TechCrunch.  Josh is also a visual artist and has had his...
