Personal Placemaking | Arts + Literature Laboratory | Madison Contemporary Arts Center

Personal Placemaking

In this four-week class we will create the space for self-guided exploration of place. Our time together on a weekly zoom call will be spent discussing our experiences and themes around placemaking. Outside of class students will identify a place of personal significance which they will explore through a series of prompts ranging from writing, photography, drawing and walking meditations. These exercises are designed to create a deeper understanding of our environment, looking forward to time we can once again share space.

Tuition Assistance

As funds are available, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships. Our scholarship policy asks that you identify as meeting one of the two following criteria:

1."I certify that my household income is below the living wage as outlined here.”

2."I certify that my household income is above the living wage but additional circumstances make me unable to afford the workshop registration fee."

To request a scholarship, simply email literature@artlitlab.org and indicate which course you are interested in, which of the above criteria best describes your current situation, and how much you can afford for the course. Please note, 10% of the registration fee or $10, whichever is greater, helps us cover some basic costs. Classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment; in that instance, only tuition paid can be refunded. Please include your full name, address, phone number and emergency contact (name and email address) in your email so that we may get you registered.
