Remember to Write! Memories to Memoir | Arts + Literature Laboratory | Madison Contemporary Arts Center

Remember to Write! Memories to Memoir

Memoir writing presents a unique opportunity to explore craft while discovering new perspectives on our lives. Students will produce short essays that reflect adventures, observations, critical incidents, and individual writing styles! We will find stories and organize projects over the course of our five weekly two-hour class sessions; we will navigate settings, character, action, research, and staying motivated to write. Weekly prompts, writing time, and reading time will round out our five week class together. Students who complete this class will transform life experiences into compelling essays, build skill at conveying mood, action, and personal perspective, and develop motivation to continue writing their life stories.
