Ely Perlman

Ely Perlman is a guitarist, composer and arranger from Tel Aviv, Israel. He graduated with distinction from the Jazz Department of the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts.

Ely is active musically in Israel and abroad. In 2019, he performed in two worldwide tours with the “BujazzO” Big Band, including performances in Berlin, Leipzig, Mannheim, Rochester, New York and Chicago. In the summer of 2018 he appeared with his band in the “Umbria Jazz” festival in Italy. During his studies he has performed with leading artists, including Ben Wendel, Shai Maestro and Tia Fuller.

 Ely’s awards include first place in the International Jazz Competition in Rostov, Russia and an Award of Excellence “In Memory of Ron Baron” from the Israeli Conservatory of Music Jazz Competition. He is a scholarship recipient from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation for Jazz studies in 2016-17 & 2018-19. Ely served three years of mandatory service at the Israel Defense Forces in the Education and Youth Corps with an “Outstanding Musician” status, working as an orchestrator and arranger for I.D.F’s music ensembles and bands.
