A Due Remembrance of Wolves by David Boffa

A Due Remembrance of Wolves | David Boffa | 2021 | 7 minutes
A short meditation on humans' troubled relationship with wolves, via the writings of hunters, naturalists, and politicians.

Crystal City by Colin Crowley

Crystal City | Colin Crowley & Cribshitter | 2023 | 5 minutes
This music video uses a winter night in the city of Madison as the backdrop for two desperate characters whose paths lead towards each other in an unexpected exchange. We conceived of this video as a dark love letter to the city of Madison while telling a story of two characters whose paths are both mysterious and ridiculous. There is an underlying sense of absurdist humor in this video presented with a dark, deadpan delivery.

In My Tea by Austin Durest

In My Tea | Austin Duerst | 2022 | 6 minutes
A man trapped in a fever dream discovers a horrifying secret. Musician Louka Patenaude and I created this film during the winter of 2022 based on his song "In My Tea." We share a love of old silent films (in particular the works of Georges Méliès). We dissected the lyrics of the song, and Louka explained that it was a metaphor for those who aim to profit by sending soldiers off to war. Using that idea as a springboard, the rest of the video evolved subconsciously, like a dream itself.

Be Test 3 (Breath/Burden/Uphold) by Kyle Herrera

Be Test 3 (Breath/Burden/Uphold) | Kyle Herrera | 2019  | 5 minutes
This work describes an encounter with death anxiety. Breath, the body’s fundamental operation, quiets the awareness of mortality, represented here by digital abstraction. Automatic acts become laborious, and dread overpowers one’s sense of self until new meaning is found in symbiosis and continuity with other life.

snow light by Alex Jacobs

snow light | Alex Jacobs | 2023 | 8 minutes
Colors and snowfall surround a street lamp with a loose fixture on time and space in this abstract ambient vid.

Unstinting by James Kreul

Unstinting | James Kreul | 2023 | 8 minutes
American gangsters attempt a daring and violent payroll heist in a Japanese cement factory. Affectionate fans attempt to dodge security during an aging indie pop star's Las Vegas residency.

spotpass by Gavin McCauley

spotpass | Gavin McCauley | 2018 | 4 minutes
Throwback to a video that I made two years ago for Freedom Skate Shop (http://freedomskateshopmadison.com/). Filmed entirely on a Nintendo 3DS. The song is "Get It Together" by The Go! Team. Featured skaters (in order of appearance): Joe Rose, Liam Pritchard, myself, Timmy Sinnott, Kyle Mackulak, Jake Thiede, Travis McCowan, and Geoff Kopski.

Man in Space by Gretta Wing Miller

Man in Space | Gretta Wing Miller | 1981 | 10 minutes

Man In Space was born when I worked at the ABC News Film Library in the early 1980s. I took this reel of NASA film home to show to dinner friends. I grabbed the album of Help! to serve as soundtrack, and we were all amazed at how well it synced to the visual!

Magic by Jason Moyer

Magic | Jayson Moyer | 2023 | 2 minutes
A mixed media project celebrating the wonderment of being laid off and finding magic in the everyday world around us.

Nervous Breakdown by Jason Moyer and Shawndell Marks

Punk Ballads, "Nervous Breakdown" | Jayson Moyer & Shawndell Marks | 2020 | 5 minutes
During the pandemic musicians had nowhere to perform, the spaces that were once filled with humans were empty. Armed with 2 mics, 2 cameras and an analog cassette recorder we recorded an album of punk covers with a twist. Instead of white male angst it was from the strong force of a quiet female voice.

Stabacab "ViBRATiONLAND" by Eric J Nelson

ViBRATiONLAND, "Stabacab" | Eric J. Nelson | 2019 | 3 minutes
A stop motion short film inspired by the song, "Stabacab" by ViBRATiONLAND from the album Private Bits. Just a bunch of gross critters, eating each other, laying eggs, and then some other critters eating those eggs. You've been warned. Shot on iPhone with Dragonframe Tether.

Passing Through by Chloe Simmons

Passing Through | Chloë Simmons | 2020 | 7 minutes
Passing Through is a video work composed of low quality footage from the artist's personal phone, found animations, and text pulled from Wikipedia. The work is a push and pull between the artist's intent and meaning generated through the process of collaging literal (and quite banal) definitions of words such as perception and causality, video, and royalty free visual and audio elements scavenged from YouTube. The final result is a desperate attempt to understand our world in a time when our attention is often fragmented and overloaded, and information and imagery is presented without context.

Ovation by Max Wasinger and Peregrine Balas

B. Hayes, "Ovation" | Max Wasinger, Peregrine Balas | 2018 | 7 minutes
This experimental music video features an abstraction of a spinning turntable platter vibrating on the edge of existence. Dripping, bubbling, undulating staticy ooze provides mysterious foreground ambience. The juxtaposition of geometric forms on a charted path against a chaotic fluid storm playing call and response with skittering drum machine grooves and hopeful atmospheric pads provides a warm fuzzy blanket for the listening viewer to wrap themselves in. Music by Los Angeles based producer and DJ, Bradley "B." Hayes. Video commisioned by Yūgen Records, a vinyl record label project based in Madison.

Mummy Forest by John Williams

Mummy Forest | John Williams | 2023 | 4 minutes
Twenty two mummies, each standing at approximately six feet tall hanging from translucent wires in a barn. The camera acts as a traveler stumbling unto the forest. As the journey progresses, the surrounding environment becomes more chaotic and surreal. Directions change on a dime, the viewer is unaware of where they are in the space, and the mummies start collapsing on themselves. The camera acts as the agent of change rather than the sculptures. Much like getting lost in an actual forest, the trees are stationary but in the right context become horrifying. Mummy art: Micka Klauck. Music: Jason Blake.
