Artist Statement

My piece integrates the soft pastel touch of watercolor with the solid lines of an ink pen to illustrate Barbara Bush and surround her in a whimsically colorful background. Also included are some of her most memorable quotes.

About the Artist

Nora-Kathleen Berryhill is a volunteer at ALL and an Edgewood College student studying international relations and journalism. She is the editor of the student newspaper On The Edge News, president of the Edgewood Debate Team, a writing tutor, a reporter at WORT, and the summer 2021 publishing/editorial intern at The Progressive. Nora-Kathleen enjoys writing in all its forms, but especially enjoys poetry and has published in Madison College’s Yahara Literary Journal and Edgewood’s LOST/FOUND. She is also passionate about fashion design and construction, having presented her own work at fashion shows. She also sells handmade cards with original illustrations and uniquely designed face masks on a commission basis.
