Artist Statement
While researching who Nancy was, what she did in her life, and how she was viewed, I realized her many complexities, or facets, like the title. From a more lonely childhood to stem cell research, interest in astrology, and her 'Just Say No' campaign, there were so many sides of her. The public eye viewed her anywhere from a doll to a 'dragon lady' and that goes to show that all of us are a whole of many parts, seen and unseen.
About the Artist
Christy Grace is a multidisciplinary professional artist, published illustrator, and invisible illness awareness advocate, living in Wisconsin. Christy's personal fine art often explores the complexities of living with chronic illnesses, giving space for both expression and connection while her illustration is more playful and sometimes inspired by her adventures with her young daughter and their mutual love for nature and all things magical. www.artofchristy.com
